Apple’s iPhone 16 not yet allowed to enter Indonesian market

JAKARTA, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) — Indonesian Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said Tuesday that the Southeast Asian country had yet to allow Apple’s newly-released mobile phone product, iPhone 16, to enter the market as the U.S.-based company had not met the import requirement.
“The iPhone 16 mobile phone from Apple has not been able to enter the Indonesian market, because it is still under the checking process of the minimum requirement for local products usage. That is one of the requirements for importing the mobile phone,” Kartasasmita said in Jakarta.
He said that as of Tuesday, Apple’s certificate for domestic product usage had expired and had to be extended for Apple to be able to sell its products in Indonesia. ■
